St James’ Church in partnership with Hemlocs, the Hemingfords’ Local History Society, have invited Bedford Gallery Quire to bring the lives of real Huntingdonshire people of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries back into focus; their joys and their celebrations, their feasting and their festivals, all brought back to life at St. James’ Church, the centre of their community.  The music performed was originally written for the people of St James’ Church.

In a concert of music of the ‘West Gallery’ period from the church archives, Bedford Gallery Quire presents a costumed performance with fiddle and flute, ophicleïde, and serpent.
