God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. Ephesians 1:22
Christ’s church, this body of people, benefit not only by what Jesus Christ has done for us on the cross, but also that he has made us into a people who will go on benefitting from his exalted position both now and in the future-age that is to come. This benefit is not about material benefit but a beneficial spiritual reality. The church is both visible in this world and invisible to us in the spiritual realms.
